Pediatric Surgeries

Approximately 1 in 12 children in India are born with congenital heart diseases. In most cases, the cause of congenital heart diseases in children is not known. Caring for children with heart disease requires expertise and an extremely coordinated effort by experienced medical professionals including pediatric cardiologists and surgeons, and intensive care nurses, supported by some highly specialized equipment.

Some of the more serious heart defects in children need to be treated with surgical procedures. Most often, this is an open-heart procedure. However, advancements in cardiac catheterization technology have ensured that the trauma of surgery can be avoided for infants.
